Claudius C. Wilson (1831-1863) was born in Effingham County, Georgia, and educated at Emory College in Oxford, Georgia. He read law and was admitted to the bar in Savannah in 1852, and practiced in partnership with Rufus E. Lester under the firm name of Wilson and Lester.
